Influencer Marketing: How it Can Help Increase Conversion

First of all, what is an influencer?

An influencer is a person or a group that has a huge following or number of friends on social media. It could be either on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or any other social media channel that people always look at and subscribe to for different reasons or niches.

Now, what an influencer can do for you is to increase brand awareness and word-of-mouth marketing. In this article, let me give you some steps on how to do influencer marketing.

Influencer Marketing Basics

To set up your influencer marketing strategy, you need to follow these basic steps:

  1. Write Down Your Goal and Budget
Make sure that you know how much you would like to spend for influencer marketing and what your goals and targets are. For example, if you sell dresses, you should write down that you want to double your sales and that you want to spend at least $50 for each influencer who you want to promote your dresses.
  2. Look for Influencers in your Niche
Secondly, it is important to do your research. Identify your niche and find the right people to tap. If we use the example above, you would want to look for influencers who are in the fashion niche. You would want trendy fashionistas to wear and review your dresses.
  3. Reach out and Negotiate
When you’ve listed down the names of the influencers who you want to promote your products, it’s time to reach out to them by sending personalized emails or direct messages. Be friendly but at the same time, be direct and let them know exactly what you want to achieve. When they respond, you can then negotiate terms and budget.
  4. Start the Project
When you both have agreed on the content that they will show, and you’ve had a deal, for example you have offered them free products in exchange for their content, or if you’ve offered revenue share for every sold item/s through their link or post, then it’s time to take action. Let them do their magic.
  5. Check out the Analytics
Let’s say that you’ve reached out to five nano-influencers (around 10,000 followers/friends/subscribers); and two mega-influencers (millions of followers/friends/subscribers), and they have all already posted their content to promote your brand. Your job now is to check the conversion through analytics.

Once you get familiar with these steps, you can apply your own approach and additional steps if you have to. It really varies per brand and per product or service, it just depends on how you reach out to your target audience through your target influencers.

How can you tap the right influencers and audience?

Now, how can you target your audience and find the right influencers to reach them?

It’s pretty simple if you think about it. Let’s say you’re a fine dining restaurant in Dubai, your target audience is about everyone nearby your restaurant’s location, especially tourists who want to visit Dubai.

You can look for food bloggers or travellers on TikTok and Instagram, or even YouTube to feature your restaurant and promote it. You can offer them free dinner, or commission for every new customer that they can bring in through their videos or posts.

Another example, if you’re selling weight-loss supplements worldwide, who will be your target audience? You can look for weight-loss influencers, fitness gurus, and just about any influencer who is into weight-loss and fitness. Obviously, their followers are inspired by their weight-loss journeys and might want to do the same.

It doesn’t matter where they are because you can ship internationally, what’s more important is how they promote your supplements. You can send them free products, or you can offer revenue share or commission for every product that they sell through their unique affiliate links.

The best part of this process is research, while you look for influencers, you can already grasp an idea of what their content looks like and how their followers/subscribers engage with them.

Be specific about your brand and let the influencers see the value of your offer. Always try to answer the question: “what’s in it for them?” instead of always thinking about what these influencers can do for you.

How can you further increase your conversion?

With these tips, you can start your research and approach your target influencers in a friendly but professional way. Let them know about your brand and products/services and get to know more about them and their followers. Once you’ve finalized a deal, you can observe how they can help increase your conversion.

To further get to the top of search consoles, make sure that you hire a trusted digital marketing company to get you ahead of your competitors.
